Wines Wine Feudo Croci Byzantium Primitivo di Manduria 2019. The vision for Feudo Croci was born on Gian Andrea Tinazzi’s visit to Salento when he became captivated by the exceptional potential of the vineyards and the terroir here. He founded the estate in 2001 with the Tinazzi family purchasing some 20 hectares of land surrounding a charming farmhouse in Carosino. Here they have maintained and planted more vineyards of indigenous varieties including Primitivo, Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera and Malvasia Blanca which thrive in the arid and sunny conditions. This stunning red is crafted from 100% Primitivo grapes sourced from the family’s vineyards in Carisino. Once in the winery the grapes are crushed and destemmed before being macerated and fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve varietal typicity. The young wine is then matured in 5 hectolitre French and American oak barrels for 6-8 months. The result is an opulent and intense Puglian red which is bursting with luscious dark berries, ripe plums and crushed cherries. On the palate there is a robust full body, firm yet supple tannins and a well-built structure that will pair well with hearty red meat dishes such as barbecued ribs, venison, steak and tomato-based pasta dishes.

Wines Wine Jean-Luc Colombo La Dame du Rouet Rose 2021. Serve well chilled. Bursting with elegance and vivacity, this charming Provencal rosé is the handiwork of leading local winemaker Jean-Luc Colombo. Known as the Winemaking Wizard of the Rhone”, Jean-Luc is a devotee of the Syrah grape which he masterfully blends with Cinsault and Grenache to craft this particular bottling. La Dame du Rouet has special meaning for Jean-Luc since as a child he would often sail along the Côte Bleue or Blue Coast” just to the west of Marseilles. After returning safely to shore after passing the rocky coves of the coast he would always give thanks to the Lady of Le Rouet” whose little chapel sits above her namesake cove. This graceful rosé is Jean-Luc’s homage to this gorgeous part of the world and to the Lady who watches over all who sail here. Jean-Luc uses the saignee method for this rosé to produce a light and aromatic wine that is matured in stainless steel tanks for up to 5 months before bottling. The nose is bursting with ripe redcurrants, cherries and hints of Mediterranean herbs like thyme and oregano. On the palate there is plenty of mouthwatering freshness, a silky smooth texture and a pure, clean finish which makes this a great aperitif or partner for sushi, grilled fish or fruits de mer.

Wines Wine Vasse Felix Cane Cut Semillon 2021. The legendary Vasse Felix estate is a piece of Australian wine history thanks to the vision of founder Dr Tom Cullity who first planted vines here in the 1960s. Over the years Margaret River’s very first winery has morphed into one of the region’s top producers, making elegant white and red wines heavily influenced by the cool maritime climate. This charming dessert wine is made from the Semillon grape with the fruit carefully harvested using the Cane Cut method. This means that each cane with fruit on it is removed from the vine and the whole cane is then left to hang until the fruit dries out and becomes raisins. This process concentrates the sugars and flavours in the wine, making it possible to produce a lusciously sweet and intense dessert wine. In the glass you’ll immediately notice the deep golden hue and enticing notes of apricot, ripe peach and honey as well as hints of spice from the 5 months of ageing in French oak barrels. On the palate there is a rich sweetness carefully balanced by freshness and ripe orchard fruit notes. A great wine to enjoy instead of dessert or alongside fruity cheesecakes or chocolate puddings.
