White Wine San Pedro de Yacochuya Torrontes 2020. Bodega San Pedro de Yacochuya is a collaborative project between famous flying winemaker” Michel Rolland and the Etchart family who have been making wine in their native Argentina since 1850. The winery is located in Cafayate, one of the highest altitude winemaking regions in the world where the vines have to endure desert-like conditions with hot summers and very low rainfall. This terroir is perfectly-suited to Torrontes which is today considered Argentina’s iconic white wine variety. The grapes used for this wine are sourced from estate vineyards growing at 2000 metres above sea level. These harsh conditions help to emphasise the aromatic character of the grape as well as preserving plenty of mouthwatering freshness. To ensure the grapes reach the winery in optimal condition they are harvested early in the morning while it is still cool. Once in the winery they are carefully sorted and then fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. The result is a refreshing and elegant white wine which is bursting with hints of honeysuckle, peach, almond blossom and citrus zest. Light bodied and very easy to drink, it makes a great aperitif and also pairs great with spicy Asian dishes, seafood and sushi.

White Wine Sarris V for Vostilidi 2020. No need to decant. Located in the southwestern area of the beautiful island of Kefalonia, the Sarris winery was founded by Panos Sarris. After a long and successful career as a sommelier and a significant entrepreneurial experience with his own restaurant, on one of the stunning beaches of the island, Panos has decided to devote himself to the production of natural wine. The 100% Vostilidi grapes have been carefully selected from a vineyard in Lixouri, near Vatsa beach. The wine was spontaneously fermented with indigenous yeasts in inox vats and then left to mature for 9 months in oak casks. It is produced in small quantities and in the most natural way possible, and it’s not filtered. The V for Vostilidi has an intense golden color with some orange hues. On the nose, it shows a remarkable concentration of aromas: honey, candied papaya, orange jam, vanilla and dried apricot. On the palate, the wine is intense with an initial slight sweet note, followed by surprising acidity and a tannic mouthfeel. It has a good body and a pleasant and long aftertaste. A Greek orange wine. Try it with quail, mushroom risotto, or rich fish preparations.

White Wine Schloss Gobelsburg Ried Heiligenstein Erste Lage Riesling 2020. No need to decant. Schloss Gobelsburg can be considered the oldest continuously operated winery in the Kamptal Danube region, and one of the oldest in Europe. The company has been managed by Eva and Michael Moosbrugger since 1996, with the aim to continue the centuries-old history of this cultural asset. In these venerable walls beneath the Gobelsburg, cellarman Franz Karner slowly and coldly ages the wines in large, neutral wooden barrels. The spectacular new basement, which looks old, was recently completed in the most elaborate handiwork, just like it used to be done in the Middle Ages. The Ried Heiligenstein vineyard is interspersed with Riesling terraces and is located on the local mountain of the same name in Langenlois. Here the vines thrive on a unique soil structure consisting of silt, arkose, sandstone, and organic sediments. Some of the vines are among the oldest cultivated by Schloss Gobelsburg. The juicy and elegant Riesling of Ried Heiligenstein has a medium yellow-green color, with bright reflections. On the nose, there are delicate herbaceous notes, orange peel, a touch of peach, and light hints of chamomile. One the palate, the wine is endowed with good complexity. The acidity is well integrated, the minerality is decisive, and the final is long and complex. It is excellent with oysters and white fish.
