White Wine Grosset Alea Riesling 2021. Originally an old milk depot, Grosset winery was founded in 1981 by Jeffrey Grosset who first fell in love aged 15 when his father brought home a bottle for his family to try. After studying Enology he went on to work for wineries in Germany and Australia before deciding to create his very own project focused on Riesling. Over the years Jeffrey has helped put the Clare Valley on the map for this variety, encouraging other winemakers to start planting it and championing the screwcap to preserve its natural aromatics. This bottling is a great introduction to the classic Grosset style which is inspired by traditional European white winemaking. Fruit is sourced from the Rockwood vineyard which is farmed both organically and biodynamically. Once in the winery it is carefully sorted and then fermented in stainless steel tanks to showcase the natural character of the Riesling. The result is a lively, vivacious wine that’s bursting with citrus, honeysuckle, and ginger notes on the expressive nose. The palate is refreshing and clean with plenty of grapefruit and lemon, culminating in a pure, clean finish. Serve as a vibrant aperitif or a partner for leafy salads, sushi, fresh seafood, and creamy cheeses.

White Wine Grosset Springvale Riesling 2021. Jeffrey Grosset fell in love with wine aged 15 when his father brought home a bottle to share with his family. He then went on to study Enology and worked at wineries in Germany and Australia before deciding to found his own winery in the Clare Valley in 1981. The current winery sits on the site of an old milk depot and specializes in top quality Riesling wines which are bottled under screwcap to preserve the aromatics and freshness. Springvale is a prized 6 hectare vineyard which is farmed both organically and biodynamically. The vines are planted over limestone soils with the roots embedded in deep slate, creating a wine of great intensity and minerality. The fruit is fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks on the lees for a short period before bottling which adds additional complexity and polish to the final cuvee. Subtle hints of lime flower, spring herbs and lavender immediately jump out of the glass followed by deeper undertones of green apple and pear. The first sip reveals a mouthwatering acidity, feather-light body, and lingering zingy citrus notes which make this a fantastic aperitif or match for sushi and fresh seafood.

White Wine Schuster Gruner Veltliner Alte Reben 2021. Gruner Veltliner is the crown jewel in Austria’s wine production thanks to the exquisite and unique white wines now being produced across the country. The Schuster family have been making wine for 250 years and focus on using traditional local varieties like Gruner and the rarer Roter Veltliner. Their ancient family connection with the vine means they are very aware of their place in nature and they seek to work in harmony with the earth. The grapes used in the Alte Reben are harvested by hand from 50 to 60 year old vines planted on two different plots. After they arrive at the winery the grapes undergo a slow fermentation in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the freshness and pure varietal character. The wine is then stored on the lees for a period before bottling. The Alte Reben is a truly special expression of Gruner Veltliner thanks to the use of old vines which have very deep roots and tend to produce incredibly concentrated grapes with an exceptionally focused and precise flavour profile. On the nose there are generous green apple, citrus and fresh herbs, while the palate offers a mouthwatering freshness, light body and hints of baked apples, oregano, thyme and a salty minerality.
