Straw yellow in colour, the nose gives citrus, pineapple along with notes of peach and freshly cut grass. The palate explodes with lemon and lime, nectarine, tropical fruit, apple and gooseberry. It is fuller bodied yet remains fresh with an acidity and intensity that is refreshing yet not overly tart. Oak ageing lends a biscuity creaminess to the wine as well as a long, lingering finish. White Wine Amisfield Sauvignon Blanc 2019
White Wine Inama Vulcaia Fume Sauvignon 2019. The Soave wine region in the hills east of Verona is best known for its crisp white wines made with the indigenous Garganega grape, but the Inama family are determined to show the world the true extent their homeland’s incredible potential. The family have been making wine on their estate for over fifty years since it was founded by Giuseppe Inama and first began making this iconic Italian Sauvignon Blanc in the early 1990s when Giuseppe’s visionary son, Stefano, joined the company. The Vulcaia Fume is made in a seductive smoky style with fermentation in 30% highly-toasted new oak barrels and 70% used barrels to give a delicate balance between fresh fruit character and deep spicy and vanilla undertones. On the nose there are powerful aromas of ripe tropical fruit, citrus and white flowers set off by hints of vanilla and roasted coffee beans. The first sip reveals a opulent texture and invigorating stone fruit flavours complemented by rich buttery notes. This unique Sauvignon Blanc truly expresses the potential of the Soave terroir with its rich volcanic soils and gentle climate. Over the years the Vulcaia Fume has picked up a plethora of awards around the world and gained a reputation as one of the finest and most unusual white wines being made in Italy today.

White Wine Felsina Sistri Chardonnay 2019. Although the Felsina estate is best known for their legendary Chianti Classico red wines made with the traditional local Sangiovese grape, they have been producing this refined Chardonnay ever since the first vintage in 1987. The result of years of experimentation and research, the vines that produce these Chardonnay grapes are grafts from French clones that were planted on an area of the Felsina estate close to the Ombrone river. Each harvest the grapes are carefully picked and selected by hand before being pressed and fermented in French oak barrels. The wine is then matured in the barrel for a year on the lees and undergoes daily battonage to help create a rich, creamy texture and complex flavour profile. When the maturation period is complete the wine is bottled and rested for at least three months before it is deemed ready for release. The result is a deeply-coloured white wine with enchanting aromas of white peach, mango and vanilla. The first sip reveals a full body, firm structure and intense tropical fruit aromas along with hints of sweet baking spice balanced by a fresh acidity. The rich, buttery character of this Chardonnay makes it an ideal match for risottos, chicken served in a creamy sauce or hard cheeses.
